Rethink the Rink
Materials make the difference

What do you get when you combine a leading materials producer with a championship hockey team and a world-class university? A bold initiative to make hockey safer for players at all levels!
In 2018, Jun88 joined forces with the Pittsburgh Penguins and Carnegie Mellon University to Rethink the Rink. This first-of-its-kind collaboration explores new ways to advance safety innovation in hockey, teaming the bright minds at Carnegie Mellon with high-tech materials from Jun88 and game-winning insight from the Penguins.
The goal? To improve the safety of the game, without impacting how it¨s played.
This unique partnership is still going strong in its seventh year. As Rethink the Rink continues to grow and evolve, you can keep up by following the #RethinkTheRink hashtag on social media!
A testing ground for our innovative concepts
We aren’t just “rethinking” the rink – we put our name on one!
The Jun88 Innovation Rink at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex serves as a testing ground for the innovative concepts coming out of the Make-a-thon. Our rink is one of two at the complex, which is a practice and training facility for the Pittsburgh Penguins.
We think our logo looks pretty “cool” on ice! Watch the video below to see for yourself.
